Brotherly Inspection

Lucas likes to check things out for his little sister! He's such a watch dog!
Yes, this should hold her!
Lucas had to get in the crib with her to check out her view of the mobile!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Joe had a very low-key birthday last Tuesday. I think he was quite content, though!

Homecoming

A "tork" in our yard that said "I'm a big brother (according to Lucas!)

Kate's coming-home outfit!

We finally got home at about 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. We were waiting for the pediatrician. Kate had to come home "on lights" for jaundice. We've had a home-health nurse come the past two days to draw blood and we're waiting to hear about her level today. We went for our first well-check today and she has gained some of her weight back. She was 6lbs. 1oz. on Sunday and today she was 6lbs. 4oz. We'll go again on Monday. We have enjoyed being home. It's so busy with 2. Timing is everything. Lucas went back to school today and we picked him up after Kate's appointment. He had fun telling everyone all about her and showing her picture. A BIG thanks to everyone for gifts, flowers, well-wishes, dinners, and thoughts! I couldn't do it without such wonderful friends and family.

Stealing hearts already

Baby Kate

Four Generations

Lucas meets baby Kate

After all the anticipation, Lucas was so exctited to meet "baby sister". We had purchased and wrapped a striped blankie like his only pink to give to her when she was born. Baby Kate had gotten him a harmonica (I know I'm crazy) and a book. When he met her he immediately wanted to hold her and give her a kiss. He couldn't believe my belly was gone. It was one of those priceless moments that a mommy will never forget!

Oh, that's why they call it labor!

Thursday was one of the longest and happiest days of my life. My mom and I went to the hospital at 7:30 a.m. while Joe took Lucas to daycare for a "normal" day. They started my pitocin at about 8. Dr. Grady tried his dandiest to break my water at about 9 but couldn't because my uterus was too high. He came back at noon (I was still 2-3 cm) and broke it. That's when the party really started. I started to have pretty hard contractions and asked for my epidural at 3 but they wanted my blood pressure to be higher (it is typically lower.) They kept pushing fluids and FINALLY about 5 p.m. they came to do it. I was dying!!! As soon as they gave me the epidural my heart rate dropped from 100 to 50 and I really thought I was dying as the nurses, doctor, and two anthesiologists ran in. They kept oohing and ahhing because they'd never seen anything like that. It continued to drop into the low 80s with each contraction. Things really sped up after my epidural and at 11:00 p.m. they said I was ready to start pushing. I pushed from 11:15 to 12:26 when my beautiful baby girl arrived! They said had she been an ounce bigger it would have ended in a C-section again. The nurses were so postive and up-beat but afterwards told me they had been taking bets on what time my C-section would be! It was definetly the hardest thing I've ever done! I'm so glad she's here!

Last Day as Family of Three

Last picture of the Campbell's as 3!

"Twas the night before baby and all through the house

not a thing left undone, not even by my spouse (he's been very productive!)

The house was all clean and dusted with care

In hopes it will still be on Saturday when we get back there!

No really, we think we have all our ducks in a row! Last night we spent getting things ready around the house and tonight I was running some last minute errands (Lucas wanted to get his baby sister a pink balloon!

Family Fun Day at REMC

Today we went with GG and Pop to Family Fun Day. Lucas, Cole, and Nate played in the jumpers, ate, and went on a hay ride to get a pumpkin. We had lots of fun!

Checking out the bubbles from the bubble machine!

No Change...

Well, Dr. Grady said that there was no change in my dialation this week. There is no need for me to go back on Wed. since they are inducing me on Thursday so he said he'd just see me bright and early on Thursday! ONE WEEK!! I'm so excited!

Worn Out

Lucas has been going through some sort of phase at Nee Nee's the last 2 weeks where he becomes hysterical if she leaves his sight. He's doing fine when Joe and I drop him off, no tears. The last 2 days he has not taken a nap or eaten lunch (which he really hasn't since I started back to school). Nee Nee usually runs errands while the kids sleep, leaving her other workers there of course, but Lucas has been going with her. He has called me the last 2 days and asks if he can go and they tell me where they're going. I'm lucky he gets special treatment! I don't know if this is a baby phase or what. I tried all weekend to not mention the baby and he melted my heart in church on Sunday. We were giving the sign of peace to everyone and when he was finished socializing he leaned over and kissed my stomach (which he's never done before ) and said, "That's for baby sister." I could've cried! I hope this phase is over soon, I have a feeling it might get worse before it gets better....

A Relaxing Weekend

We are counting down our weekends to get ready for baby sister to come. We relaxed and got many things checked off our to-do list. Joe is finally feeling better (recovering from Mono) so that is the biggest help! I got the diaper bag ready and my suitcase out of the closet. I've been working on report cards because my sub won't have been there long enough to know the kids and I have a busy week because I'm having my parent-teacher conferences this week everyday before and after school. I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row as well as enjoy the "down time" with Lucas!
Lucas and I made blueberry muffins Saturday morning. He's such a big helper!

36th week appointment

Well, she's not coming tomorrow....my amniotic fluid was lower this week, 25 as opposed to 29 so Dr. Grady said that's not anything to "jump up and down about". I was also 1 cm. dialated. We scheduled my induction with the hospital for OCTOBER 16!!! Only 2 weeks away, unless she decides to come sooner! I can't wait to meet her! Check out her handsome older brother in his Oregon Duck football jersey! What a stud!

Thanks Uncle Matthew and Aunt Holly (Kamryn too!)
