Curtis Christmas

All the Curtis' gathered yesterday to celebrate Christmas. We had lots to eat and a fun $10 gift exchange. It was great that everyone could get together early so we're not so rushed on Christmas (we can spread out the eating too!) We were able to take a group picture (the first in a long time) with out too much trama!

Daycare Party

We thought the third time with Santa might be the charm, but it didn't work out that way. It was fun seeing all the kids play together and all dressed up. Santa brought Lucas some tools and a table saw! It's good to get to meet the parents of Lucas' friends.

Like Father, like son...

Lucas likes to get real comfortable while watching tv and relaxing in bed. He fully undressed himself when I was getting ready one morning.

Santa Breakfast

Last weekend we went to see Santa AGAIN. Lucas actually got close enough to take a gift from him!

"I want a firetruck"

Yesterday we went to my mom's work to see Santa and take a carriage ride. Let's just say Lucas was much more excited to see the horses than he was to see Santa.

This was as close as I could get! He did finally, in exchange for a candy cane, yell from my shoulder, "I want a firetruck, " and then managed a "thank you" for the candy cane. He loved seeing the horses and riding in the carriage though. Maybe next year....

Shadow

Lucas found his shadow this morning on the living room wall. He would walk very slowly trying to "sneak up" on it and when he got nose-to-nose with the wall he'd hit it and laugh his head off! It was so funny to watch!

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We had a great day spending time with family and eating good food! We have so much to be thankful for! Lucas still isn't himself and is not quite over his pneumonia. He spent most of the day at home napping (3hrs. which is very uncharacteristic). Joe "took one for the team" by going home and watching football on the couch while Lucas napped. Lucas and I were able to get an early start on Christmas decorating since we've spent so much time at home this week. This was our first attempt at a Christmas card picture. It was before nap on Thanksgiving Day and wasn't really into it.

Happy Halloween!

Today was definetely filled with more treats than tricks. I've always loved Halloween, but it is SO much more fun now! We began our day of trick-or-treating at 7:15 a.m. at GG's work where her co-workers filled a Wal-mart sack with goodies and taught him the trick of the trade. After getting something he learned that it went "in the bag". He said that after every piece of candy. After partying at school we made a few special stops on our way home and then the trick-or-treaters where beginning to arrive. Lucas enjoyed passing handfuls of candy out to each trick-or-treater. He wanted to be very generous! We had a very happy Halloween!

Age is nothing but a number

Today was a big dad for Daddy! The BIG 3-0! He's handling it pretty well, now that it is here. The anticipation was the worst! Look at all he's accomplished in 30 years...how fortunate! His birthday gifts ranged from everything between money, a nose hair trimmer, and pjs that helped revert to his younger years. The following pictures shouldn't be viewed without adult supervision or the faint of heart. Happy Birthday Joe! We love you!
I think Lucas thought it was his birthday again already!

Picking out Pumpkins

Sunday we went to a local farm to pick out pumpkins. Lucas was so excited and had a blast. There was a baby cow that the boys could pet. They were more excited about the pigs and sheep than they were about the pumpkins. The pictures speak for themselves! Everything is new and fun when Lucas is around!

Happy Birthday Lucas!

Lucas had a great day today. He opened packages from Oregon and got some much needed clothes. Joe and I waited until today to give him our gift. When he woke up this morning (5:30 a.m.) we gave him an Elmo camera, or "cheese" as he calls it. Tonight we gave him a water doodle mat that lays on the floor and erases as it drys...he loved it! We baked cupcakes to take to his friends at daycare. (He had to sample one at breakfast!) We spent the evening playing on the playground. I can't believe our baby boy is 2! We're so blessed!
Flashback to 2 years ago!

Lucas' 2nd Birthday Party

Saturday, we had Lucas' 2nd Birthday party. I can't believe he's already 2! We had lots of celebrating to do! We borrowed a jumper from Nee Nee (Lucas' babysitter) and the kids(8 boys!) had a blast! They were the entertainment! We had ham and turkey sandwiches and an Elmo cake. Lucas got all kinds of new clothes, which we were definetly in need of, and several new toys to play with including an Elmo Dr. kit, a magnetic phonics alphabet set, a dress-up Elmo, 2 cars, and some wooden blocks. We are so lucky to have so many friends and family members who love us! Happy Birthday Lucas!

Breakfast with Mallory

My cousins came up for a quick visit from South Carolina. Amy Jo (which was very confusing for Lucas since I'm Amy and Daddy's Joe) brought her daughter Mallory. Lucas was so happy to meet her. He quickly gave her up for a powdered doughnut!

Sticker Fun!

Party Time

This past weekend began the string of five "2nd birthday" parties we'll be attending (including our own) before January! Lucas and his buddy Peyton had a great time! Boy that nursery nurse wasn't fooling us when she advised us to never let Lucas play with thing he could tangle himself in!
