Relaxing Sunday afternoon

Yesterday we went to a farm in town and picked out some pumpkins to use as decorations in my flowerbeds. Lucas had a BLAST feeding the goat and petting the baby calf. He was so dirty by the time we left we had to hose him off when we got home. We went for an evening walk and Lucas tried out his new bike helmet that Cole and Nate gave him for his birthday.

Lucas' 3rd Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Lucas' 3rd birthday! He was so excited for this one! He's been talking about it for so long. We made cupcakes on Thursday night to take to his friends at Nee Nee's but that night he started running a fever and Joe stayed home with him on Friday. (That's 2 out of 3 birthdays). Luckily, he was back to himself yesterday and the weather cooperated. We had a great time!

35th week appointment

At last week's appt. we got to see "baby sister" in great detail because of all the fat that she has put on since the last one. She weighed 5 lbs. 10 oz. The doctor was concerned about the level of my amniotic fluid. Normals is 22 and mine measured 29. He said that it could have just been the reading, but they want to check it again this week. If it is more than that he said she'd be better off out than in.....we could have her sooner that expected! I'll let you know this Wednesday!

Indianapolis with Matthew and Holly

Joe's younger brother, Matthew, and his wife, Holly flew in Friday for a weekend get-away. We haven't seen them in a little over a year. We hung out downtown yesterday and then they went to the Colts game today. We had 4 tickets and didn't know until the last minute that everyone, regardless of age, needed a ticket so Joe called a friend to come up and Lucas and I drove home. :( We had a great time catching up!

My little colt....

This was a great time until someone ran us off because it wasn't open yet! At least we snuck one slide in!

Hurricane Ike Strikes South Street

Last Sunday was the unbelievable wind storm that brought winds of 75 miles an hour. Luckily, we were only without power for 24 hours. Our water wouldn't work for awhile because of the widespread power outages and we had to boil it when it came back on until Wednesday. I feel a little guilty because it was GREAT being off school for 4 days. I got so much "nesting" done. I worked harder at home than I ever do at school!

You can see our damage all in one shot in this photo. We need new shingles, a new side door, and the trim that is at the apex of our house. Not to mention all the groceries we had to throw away! We found it over in the cornfield two houses down. There were many with much more damage with us including lots of trees down! This is Lucas helping me out with some chores around the houses (okay he's really just playing, but he likes to think he's being helpful!)

A Visit with Uncle Curt

Yesterday we went to check out where Uncle Curt was living in Bloomington. He showed us all of the best playgrounds and a shallow creek where Lucas, of course, stripped down and cooled off. Thanks for a fun day Curt!
Of course we found a fire truck to drive....
Hmm...how can I get into that creek??
Early modeling days! We weren't prepared to get wet today!
