Big Trip

We'll be off the blog for awhile. We are going to visit the Oregon Campbell's for 12 days! We're looking forward to seeing everyone and we've packed all but the kitchen sink! It's hard to pack for those hot days and cool nights! We'll have lots of stories and pictures to share when we get back!

Babysitting Reese

Reese, my friend Katie's daughter, came over to play one day last week and Lucas took the word babysitting literally. He kept trying to pick her up. When I'd tell him to sit down if he wanted to hold her he would lay right next to her and throw his arm around her. He just couldn't get close enough! Sitting beside her would almost turn into sitting on her if I hadn't been watching! In this picture Lucas was showing her his mobile!

Bruises...

If he has it, he can bruise it! Check out the bruise on the outside of his ear. We went to play with his daycare friends and, of course, he fell and landed on the corner of a toy, but that is the only spot that bruised. I didn't think that part of your ear was able to be bruised! The one on his forehead is from trying to look at his toes while washing his hands at the sink!

4-H Fair

Lucas and I went to the Clark County 4-H fair with Matt, Mom, and Dad (pictured above). We had a great time. In anticipation of the "carny food" Lucas didn't eat any supper. He had a free sno cone and shared cotton candy with Cole, Nate, and Pop. They had a great time seeing all of the animals and riding the trucks.

Big Boy Bed

This week we made the big switch! Lucas has never been much of a sleeper. Our goal lately has just been to keep him in his room. Now when he wakes up between 3 and 4 a.m. we can climb into bed with him, rather than vice versa. He has actually slept for longer streches at a time since the big switch. I can't believe the crib-days are already over! He's growing up so fast!

Biking Buddies

My cousin, Brenda, and her son, Tristan, came over for a playdate Wednesday night. Lucas wasn't really into the shared ride with him, nor was Tristan (as you can tell by the placement of his hands!)

He couldn't get enough of his first ride on Pop's mini-bike, though. I wouldn't have allowed it, but I knew my dad would break the sound barrier. I don't think the speedometer needle even moved! I have the feeling this is the first of many rides...
