Yesterday we decided we'd go for a walk. Lucas had his juice in hand and was heading towards me to get in the stroller when his toe got caught and he plummeted down the two concrete steps going from our side door. Since he had his juice cup in his hands he was unable to catch himself with his hands and his face took the brunt of the fall. He wasn't happy, but being the trooper he is, we still went for a walk. Poor baby! It hurts me just to look at it!

Monkey'n Around
One of Lucas's favorite things to do right now is to play with his stuffed animal monkey. He puts diapers on it, gives it breathing treatments, feeds it, and yes, he even fixes it's hair with my straightening iron. Joe and I crack up watching him slow dance with it and push it around the house in his pink stroller. What a good daddy he'll be one day!

A Day at the Zoo
Mom and Dad are on vacation this week and Matt's off on Mondays so we thought we take the whole gang to the Louisville Zoo. It turned out to be a great day, overcast and breezy. All of the animals were out and active. We fed the giraffes and also played at the new water park there. Joe was the brave one to go down the slides with the boys (although, he secretly enjoyed being the big kid!) Matt and Dad didn't want to get separated so they wore the same shirts (ha ha!) We had a great time!

Holy Crap! What a trip!
Amy, Lucas , and I went to Hollywood, Florida this past week for vacation and to spend time with my Grandpa John, Aunt Pam, and Cousin Angela. It started off great! We left Louisville at 5:45 on Monday morning and Lucas slept the whole way to Cleveland (why you have to go north to get south doesn't make sense but maybe that's why the airlines are bankrupt). As we are getting ready to taxi on to the runway in Cleveland, Lucas starts to make his poop face (yes, it is a funny one). Very quickly I say to Amy it smells like sh*&. That is because when we dressed Lucas in the Louisville airport we only covered half of his butt with the diaper. Lucas was also on an oral steroid at the time, so those of you with kids know what the poop looked like. There was poop an inch high and as round as a Bob Evans pancake in the seat we were going to be spending the next three hours in. I swept up Lucas and took him to the baby changing station in the back of the plane. Oh, that's right there is no such place. So I take him in the 2 by 2 place they call a bathroom, to undress him and change. So he has poop all down his leg in his shoes and everywhere in between. Amy spends the next what seems like 15 minutes cleaning up the seat area. Finally, she arrives in the back of the plane to give me a new diaper and wipes to clean Lucas. At this point Luke is standing barefoot and butt naked in the lavatory with the door open. I am not a germaphobe but that is even gross for me. So we get him cleaned and diapered and the plane can proceed to taxiing now that we are settled. Midway through our flight Luke makes the poop face again, I immediately say oh sh*& in my head, hurry get the diapers and wipes! All hands on deck! We get to the situation quicker than a tire change in a Nascar race. Still to late, he has poop from butt to neck this time (how poop can travel north I still don't know). Luke gives us one more treat as we land but this one is an easy one with no mishaps. Grandpa John picks us up (Lucas in the only thing we have clean, the pjs we took him to the airport in) and takes us to Burger King for lunch. As I hold Lucas in line waiting to order I notice something wet on Luke's foot, I look up and he has another squirter, but this one got me too. All over my shirt and all over his outfit. All told we went through 7 diapers and 3 outfits for him just getting there. Thank the Lord he was done with his medicine that day so the rest of the trip was poop incident free. We had a great time hanging out with my family and playing in the ocean and in the pool. Once Luke got over the sand being a "mess" on his feet he enjoyed the beach. Amy enjoyed the sun and water as did I. Anyone who has not heard of or tried a Miller Chill I highly recommend it. They are a cross between a Miller Lite and a Corona. Thanks to Angela for being our driver and Grandpa for hanging out each day and Pam for everything (especially the washing machine as Luke's clothes would have killed us).
